Daniel Murphy Takes Grounders For First Time
7 years agoWashington Nationals second baseman Daniel Murphy (knee) did some fielding drills on Tuesday, according to Chelsea Janes of The Washington Post. She notes that he wasn't moving laterally, however. Murphy is being brought back slowly from microfracture surgery on his right knee. He's also been hitting in the batting cage during regular batting practice. Murphy is the poster boy for the fly-ball revolution. His career has changed dramatically since changing his launch angle. But a series of injuries, mostly on his aging legs, has adversely affected his value. This feels like a classic hot potato. He's still a top-10 talent, but for how much longer? Sell high if you can. There is younger, more complete talent coming up.
