Daniel Hudson Could Throw Bullpen Soon
3 years agoWashington Nationals manager Dave Martinez said he's hoping that relief pitcher Daniel Hudson (elbow) will be able to throw a bullpen session either Monday or Tuesday. Hudson has been on the injured list since June 12 with elbow inflammation. The veteran right-hander has been throwing on flat ground and is nearing his return. The 34-year-old has been a big contributor for the Nats bullpen this year, sporting a 2.59 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 35:7 K:BB over his 24 1/3 innings of relief. However, he had a 7.11 ERA and 1.42 WHIP in his last five outings, although that probably had a little something to do with his elbow ailment. Hudson isn't much of a fantasy option, except for in deep saves/holds leagues, with Brad Hand entrenched as the closer.
