Daniel Hemric Too Slow to Contend at Darlington
3 months agoDaniel Hemric has a lackluster record at Darlington even relative to his own usual performance. In four Darlington starts, he has never finished better than 23rd or posted an average running position better than 24th with two DNFs in four starts. Hemric has admittedly been a rather clean driver this season with only ten incidents and one crash DNF, which explains why he ranks 28th in points despite only ranking 33rd in speed. That can be helpful at a track like Darlington, which sometimes has had rashes of crashes. However, the last few races at Darlington have had less attrition than the initial races with the Next Gen car, so it's unlikely that enough faster cars will crash out to allow Hemric to contend, particularly since he only qualified 25th. Most likely, Hemric will deliver another mediocre run.
