4 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Daniel Castano was optioned to the alternate training site on Thursday. No corresponding move has been announced yet. Castano was forced into the starting rotation after the injury to Elieser Hernandez (biceps) earlier this season. Castano started three games but pitched just 13 1/3 innings, putting up a 4.73 ERA and five walks with five strikeouts. He's a pitch-to-contact guy who should be able to eat innings, but there's very little upside here from a fantasy standpoint. The Marlins will likely call up an extra bullpen arm for their weekend series against the Nationals.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
