Dan Straily May Not Pitch Again This Year
6 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Dan Straily (oblique) felt some pain while playing catch on Tuesday, and manager Don Mattingly said that it's possible that Straily might not pitch again this year. We'd bet on Straily not seeing the mound again after injuring his oblique last Friday. Oblique injuries often require lengthy absences for pitchers, and there just isn't enough time left in the regular season. Straily has a 5-6 record, 4.12 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 7.3 K/9 across 23 starts this year. He had been a streaming option in deeper mixed leagues based on the matchups.
