Dalvin Cook, Jets Mutually Part Ways
1 year agoThe New York Jets are releasing veteran running back Dalvin Cook on Tuesday. The former Pro Bowler and the organization are reportedly parting ways mutually, as Cook looks to sign with a playoff team over the next week or two. Cook has had his worst season in the NFL by far, rushing 67 times for 214 yards (3.2 YPC) and catching 15 passes for 20 yards. He did not reach the end zone during his stint in New York. Ultimately, it would be surprising if any playoff team had a ton of interest in the 28-year-old given his lack of success in 2023. At best, he might end up as a team's RB3 or on a practice squad.

Dalvin Cook Elevated For Week 9
5 months agoDallas Cowboys running back Dalvin Cook was elevated off the practice squad to play in Week 9 against the Atlanta Falcons. Cook made his Cowboy debut last weekend and tallied just 12 rushing yards off six attempts. He caught his lone target for ten yards. With Rico Dowdle (illness) sitting out, Cook was deployed as the No. 2 option in the backfield behind Ezekiel Elliott. However, with Dowdle expected to return to action, Cook will likely be in a depth role this weekend and not have an integral part in the offensive attack. Fantasy managers should view the 29-year-old as a handcuff option in deeper formats that has little to no standalone value.

Dalvin Cook Handles Seven Touches In Dallas Debut
5 months agoDallas Cowboys running back Dalvin Cook was elevated from the practice squad on Sunday night with Rico Dowdle (illness) missing the game as a late scratch. The veteran rushed six times for 12 yards and added a ten-yard reception, totaling 22 yards in his Dallas debut. He is not currently in the fantasy picture, especially with Dowdle expected back next week, but his usage going forward could further muddy the backfield should he be elevated again.

Dalvin Cook Set To Make Dallas Debut
5 months agoDallas Cowboys running back Dalvin Cook was elevated to the active roster from the practice squad on Saturday and is expected to make his Dallas debut on Sunday evening in San Francisco according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. The veteran running back joined the Cowboys during the last week of August but has yet to see any regular season action. Fantasy managers should monitor his usage on Sunday evening as he could eventually work out a role going forward. Top option Rico Dowdle should be expected to continue to operate as the lead back as he has averaged 62.8 total yards per game with 11.0 PPR points per game while Ezekiel Elliott and Deuce Vaughn have been very unproductive serving as change-of-pace options. Cook is worth taking a flier on in deeper 14+ team formats for the time being.

Dalvin Cook Ready To Play, Could Suit Up In Week 8
5 months agoDallas Cowboys running back Dalvin Cook is "ready" and "in position" to play, head coach Mike McCarthy told the media. Executive vice president Stephen Jones also noted that coaches "have been talking to us about how it's about time for him to get his opportunity" as Cook continues to impress in his role on the practice squad. The 29-year-old would offer valuable competition to a backfield struggling to get its legs in the first half of the season. While Cook might never supplant Rico Dowdle as Dallas' No. 1 running back, he could certainly earn meaningful touches starting this week against the San Francisco 49ers.
