St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Dakota Hudson had a rough start on Tuesday evening, tossing five innings but allowing eight runs on seven hits and three walks. Only two of the runs ended up being earned, so Hudson's ERA didn't suffer, but it wasn't a good outing for the 24-year-old. He threw 44 strikes and 35 balls, and he'll take a 2-3 record with a (slightly deceptive) 4.63 ERA into his next start. He's a streaming candidate, at best, but he does have some good upside in his arm.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller

Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Dakota Hudson (elbow) is being placed on the 15-day IL with right elbow inflammation. Hudson got the start on Saturday as he faced the Atlanta Braves but got hit quite hard as he served up five earned runs in just two 2/3 innings of work. In a corresponding move, the Rockies promoted left-handed pitcher Josh Rogers from Triple-A. When Hudson returns from his stint on the injured list, he could return to the rotation, as the Rockies have several starters who are currently sidelined. However, he should remain on all waiver wires for the foreseeable future given the poor 6.17 ERA and 1.67 WHIP he sits with this season.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Colorado Rockies right-hander Dakota Hudson cleared waivers on Thursday and has been outrighted to Triple-A Albuquerque. The move comes after the Rockies designated Hudson for assignment over the weekend. It's not all that surprising that no teams were interested in picking him up off of waivers after he went 2-12 this year with a 5.84 ERA (5.34 FIP) and 1.64 WHIP with 48 strikeouts and a league-leading 46 walks in 86 1/3 innings over his 17 starts in his first year in Colorado. The 29-year-old former 34th overall pick by the St. Louis Cardinals in 2016 out of Mississippi State will now head to Albuquerque and try to figure things out before potentially rejoining Colorado's starting rotation at some point in the second half. Fantasy managers in deep leagues should have moved on a long time ago.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Dakota Hudson has been designated for assignment on Sunday, July 7, according to Rockies Club Information. In a corresponding move, the Rockies promoted right-handed pitcher Tanner Gordon from Triple-A. Hudson posted a poor 5.84 ERA, 1.64 WHIP, and a 46:48 BB:K ratio across 86 ⅓ innings this season. In his previous four outings, he allowed a total of 19 earned runs and 31 hits in just 18 innings. Gordon has pitched at the Triple-A level for the past two summers and has held a 5.92 ERA, 1.49 WHIP, and a 28:82 in 94 innings of play. The 26-year-old will likely take the final spot in the Colorado rotation for the time being and could have streaming appeal in favorable matchups in NL-only leagues.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Dakota Hudson threw seven innings of one-run ball in Friday's 4-1 win over the Dodgers. Hudson allowed just four hits and one walk while striking out three on his way to earning his second win of the season. The 29-year-old has shown improvement lately despite the 2-7 record, having allowed three runs or less in five of his last six outings. The ground-ball pitcher (54.7%) isn't going to record a lot of strikeouts (12.1% K%), but perhaps the recent run of success will start translating to more wins. Still, with a 4.86 FIP, he may be hard to trust for fantasy. The former first-round draft pick will get Cincinnati at home in his next start on Wednesday.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBaller
