Cubs Considering Joe Panik
5 years agoThe Chicago Cubs have considered signing second baseman Joe Panik this offseason. Chicago is looking for a cheap solution to their keystone opening, and Panik would certainly be that. The 29-year-old lefty hitter slashed only .244/.315/.336 with five home runs, 50 runs, 39 RBI and four stolen bases in 142 games with the Giants and Mets last season. There's very little power and almost no speed, so Panik doesn't really move the needle at all in fantasy, even if he's playing every day. A move to Chicago would make him slightly more attractive in deep NL-only leagues, though.
