1 year agoHouston Astros starting pitcher Cristian Javier is slated to start Game 3 of the ALDS on Tuesday against the Minnesota Twins. Framber Valdez will start Game 2 on Sunday after Justin Verlander blanked the Twins over six innings during Game 1 on Saturday. Javier broke out in a major way in 2022, particularly in the postseason, but he's yet to find his groove during the 2023 campaign. The 26-year-old finished the regular season with a 10-5 record, 4.56 ERA, 1.265 WHIP, and 159:62 K/BB over 162 innings (31 starts). He'll have a chance to get his mojo back on Tuesday in Minnesota.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
