5 years agoChicago Cubs closer Craig Kimbrel (elbow) has been placed on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to Sept. 2. Kimbrel is dealing with right elbow inflammation, but it sounds like a minor issue. He has a 5.68 ERA with 13 saves since joining the Cubs roster halfway through the season. Steve Cishek and Pedro Strop are expected to be the favorites to pitch in the ninth inning without Kimbrel. Cishek is likely the best option for the Cubs right now.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
