Cowboys Not In Negotiations With Byron Jones
5 years agoDallas Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones said that the team hasn't started contract negotiations with cornerback Byron Jones, who is in the final year of his rookie deal. "We haven’t started yet and he hasn’t approached us. Obviously Byron is the type of player you want to keep around here," Jones said. The Cowboys should get an extension done with Jones, but they're in no rush and will first get to quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver Amari Cooper. A first-round pick in 2015, Jones has solidified the Cowboys secondary and has 10 total tackles and one pass defensed in three games this season.
