Corey Seager Progressing But Not Ready To Return To Field
7 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager (elbow) will serve as the designated hitter for the team on Monday, but there's no timetable for his return to the field. Seager has been nursing a sore elbow that's been giving him trouble since the end of last season. He said he'll start throwing to the other bases on Monday as well. His program had been delayed by the stomach virus that struck the Dodgers clubhouse last week. There are some positives to take away from this. On one hand, there hasn't been talk of any surgery or time on the disabled list. But on the other hand, the continuing presence of this and other minor injuries doesn't bode well for his long-term outlook. Look for Seager to drop a few slots in drafts, but he's still a top-five player at his position. If you can draft and stash him while starting someone lower who starts, he should provide a boost to your team whenever he fully recovers.
