Corey Knebel Suffers Lat Strain On Sunday
2 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies relief pitcher Corey Knebel (lat) was removed in the seventh inning of Sunday's game against the New York Mets after throwing just 14 pitches. After the game, it was reported that he suffered a lat strain. He is scheduled to get an MRI on Monday, but the expectation ahead of the MRI is that he will require a stint on the injured list. Knebel began the year as the team's closer, but lost the job in mid-June. Since then, he has worked primarily as a low-leverage, late-inning reliever. He has a 3.43 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP on the year.
