Corey Knebel Struggling In August
6 years agoMilwaukee Brewer reliever Corey Knebel lost his closer job in late July and has continues to pitch worse ever since. On August 1st, his ERA was 3.98 and it now sits at 5.08. Through nine appearances so far this month, he has allowed at least one run in five of them. During his time away from the role, his teammates Jeremy Jeffress and Josh Hader have stepped in and been spectacular, and with the Brewers being in a tight playoff race, it seems unlikely that Knebel will regain his closer role at this time. Knebel is still owned in 76% of leagues and while he is not a must drop considering his upside, he is also not a must own and definitely not startable in his current situation.
