Corey Knebel Locks Down the Ninth in Cincinnati
6 years agoBrewers closer Corey Knebel earned the save Thursday against Cincinnati. Knebel gave up one hit but struck out two of the batters he faced on his way to save number eight. Early in April, Knebel suffered a scary hamstring injury that looked season-ending, however, he's has come back strong and held onto his closer role in Milwaukee. Reliever Josh Hader had been making a statement every time he was handed the ball in Knebel's absence, but seemingly, the Brewers preferred him in a long relief role. Knebel has only given up one earned run in June and will look to lower his unflattering 3.38 ERA going forward.
