Corey Knebel Expected To Make Roster
4 years agoMilwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Corey Knebel (elbow) is expected to be on the Opening Day roster, according to manager Craig Counsell. Knebel is scheduled to pitch in the team's scrimmage on Friday. The 28-year-old hard-throwing right-hander is making his way back from Tommy John surgery, so the Brewers will be cautious with his workload even if he's ready for Opening Day. But Knebel has looked good so far in camp and could split time with lefty Josh Hader in high-leverage situations for the Brew Crew in 2020. He missed the entire 2019 season after having elbow reconstruction, so Knebel will likely be left to the waiver wire in most fantasy leagues, at least to begin the 2020 season.
