Corey Kluber Traded to the Texas Rangers
5 years agoThe Cleveland Indians and the Texas Rangers completed a trade on Sunday that will send starting pitcher Corey Kluber to Texas in exchange for outfielder Delino DeShields and relief pitcher Emmanuel Clase. It seems like a somewhat light return for a guy who was consistently in the Cy Young conversation, but Kluber was injured almost all of last season and will turn 34 before Opening Day. Still, Kluber has been healthy and had a standard offseason, and he should be ready for the beginning of Spring Training. Meanwhile, DeShields figures to be a fourth outfielder in Cleveland and Clase should pitch the seventh or eighth inning to start the season.
