Corey Dickerson, Lonnie Chisenhall Making Progress
6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates outfielders Corey Dickerson (shoulder) and Lonnie Chisenhall (calf, finger) are both getting closer to a return from the injured list. Dickerson is throwing without pain. Chisenhall, who hasn't played at all this year, was the designated hitter for Triple-A Indianapolis on Wednesday after playing seven innings in right field the night before. Dickerson has been out since April 4 with a shoulder strain. He should be able to stretch out to 90 feet or more in his throwing program this weekend. Dickerson should return to an everyday role when he's ready, while Chisenhall should start against some right-handed pitchers as a fourth outfielder. Their returns will be bad news for Melky Cabrera and Bryan Reynolds.
