Corey Conners In Top Form Heading To The Renaissance Club
4 months agoFantasy managers will have a hard time finding a golfer in better form than Corey Conners. Dating back to May, the 32-year-old Canadian has finished inside of the top-30 in all six of his starts, including a sixth-place result at the RBC Canadian Open and a T9 at the U.S. Open, while gaining close to six and a half strokes on average from tee-to-green. Perhaps even more impressive, you'd have to go all the way back to the U.S. Open in June of 2023 to find the last time he missed a cut. Statistically, Conners should be in for another solid week, as he ranks 12th in weighted strokes off-the-tee, 12th in weighted approach play, 29th in weighted around-the-green play, 42nd in weighted putting, and 21st in lag putting. He's also made the cut in his last two Scottish Open starts, including a T19 finish last year where with excellent balance in the major strokes gained categories. Conners, currently sitting at OWGR No. 40, just may have the skill set and recent form to capture his 3rd PGA Tour victory at the Scottish Open this week.
