Corey Conners A Safe Pick With Questionable Upside At Wells Fargo
12 months agoBy now, we get that Corey Conners is a premier iron player, especially over 200 yards (fourth in strokes gained on approach at 0.798), and he isn't typically a slouch off the tee, either. But to have lasting success on the PGA Tour, guys have to do more than that on occasion to notch some high finishes. The Canadian hasn't done much of either so far this season other than a Sunday push at The Players to finish in a tie for 13th after starting the day outside the top 20. His biggest struggles have come from on and around the green, as he ranks 137th in strokes gained around the green (minus-0.187) and 160th in strokes gained putting (minus-0.472). It's doubtful that he doesn't play well enough to score DFS points for all four rounds, but at $9,400 on FanDuel, his troubles this season make him a less appealing play than other guys around him.

Corey Conners Continues Strong Form Ahead Of Valero Texas Open
2 weeks agoCorey Conners has been on a tear in recent weeks, recording three straight top-eight finishes while gaining strokes across all areas of his game. He looks to continue this excellent form at the Valero Texas Open, an event he has won twice -- in 2019 and 2023. In addition to his victories, Conners has made the cut in all six of his prior appearances, finishing no worse than T35. During his two wins, Conners gained over 29 combined strokes from tee to green, an area where he continues to excel. He currently ranks 36th in stokes gained from tee to green, gaining 0.647 strokes per round. He is also 27th in total strokes gained (0.840 per round), 20th off the tee (0.453), and 18th in greens in regulation (70.56%). He is also in the 78th percentile in greens in regulation from 200-plus yards, an area that accounted for 28.7% of all approach shots here last year. Conners is sure to be a popular pick this week, and at a price tag of $10,100 on DraftKings, he's certainly worth strong consideration from fantasy managers given his recent play and impressive course history.

Corey Conners Finishes Tied For Sixth At The PLAYERS Championship
4 weeks agoCorey Conners finished tied for sixth at The PLAYERS Championship last week and is now focusing on preparing for this week's Valspar Championship at Innisbrook Inn. With back-to-back top-10 finishes and four total in 2025, this will be Conners' first appearance in the Valspar Championship. It's worth noting that at last year's Valspar Championship, 37% of approach shots came from distances of 150-200 yards. Over the past 12 months, Conners has ranked in the 99th percentile for greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from this distance while in the fairway. Corey Conners Looking To Build Off Strong Finish At The Arnold Palmer
1 month agoCorey Conners was in the hunt on Sunday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, but despite not registering any bogeys, he was unable to gain ground on the leaders, managing just one birdie on the day. He now looks to carry that momentum into THE PLAYERS Championship, an event he has competed in five times, making the cut in four of those appearances, including a T13 finish here last year. To replicate that success at TPC Sawgrass, Conners will need to be solid from tee to green, where he currently ranks 90th on tour, averaging 0.159 strokes gained per round. He has also been impressive off the tee, ranking 39th in driving accuracy and 61st in strokes gained off the tee (0.233 per round). Additionally, over the last 12 months, Conners ranks in the 83rd percentile in proximity from 100-150 yards, a range that accounted for 32.3% of all approach shots here last year. At $7,900 on DraftKings, fantasy managers can confidently rely on Conners in their lineups once again.

1 month agoCorey Conners finished tied for 24th at the Genesis Invitational last month and is now focusing on preparing for this week's Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill Club. He has missed only one cut in 2025 and has historically performed well at this tournament, finishing tied for 18th in 2024 and tied for 21st in 2023. It's important to note that at last year's Arnold Palmer Invitational, over 35% of approach shots came from distances of 150-200 yards.
