Cordarrelle Patterson Faces Difficult Matchup
2 years agoAtlanta Falcons running back Cordarrelle Patterson started the year as a plug-and-play RB1 for fantasy players. Over his first five games this year, the veteran running back averaged 14.2 rushing attempts and 14.9 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. However, he has averaged only 10.2 rushing attempts and 7.9 fantasy points per game over the past five matchups, scoring 8.7 or fewer fantasy points in 60% of those contests. More importantly, Tyler Allgeier outperformed Patterson last week. The rookie had 139 rushing yards and 22.1 fantasy points, while the veteran totaled 52 yards and 11.7 fantasy points. Meanwhile, the Baltimore Ravens have surrendered only 17 fantasy points per game this season to running back, the fifth-fewest in the NFL. Fantasy players should avoid starting the veteran running back this week.
