Corbin Burnes To Compete For Rotation Spot
6 years agoMilwaukee Brewers pitcher Corbin Burnes, who pitched out of the bullpen last year, was told he'd be a starting pitcher in 2019. "You know, as we get close to the season, the need may be [different], but I came into camp as a starter and I fully intend on being a starter," Burnes said. The hard-throwing right-hander went 7-0 with a 2.61 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 8.3 K/9 in 30 outings (38 innings) of relief last year. He also dominated in a starting role in the minors in 2017 and could be worth a late-round flier in deep mixed leagues if he wins a rotation job.
