4 months agoVancouver Canucks right wing Conor Garland played the lead role in Friday's 4-3 overtime victory at Buffalo, tallying three points. He netted two goals, including the game-winning marker, and dished out one assist. With the prolific performance, Garland extended his road point streak to nine games. Overall, Garland has collected at least one point in seven straight outings. He's now up to 21 points (eight goals, 13 assists) in 22 games for the season, trailing only Quinn Hughes (25) on the Canucks' scoring charts. Garland is currently exceeding fantasy managers' expectations significantly, as he has never had more than 52 points in a single season.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

1 month agoVancouver Canucks right wing Connor Garland tallied two goals, including the overtime winner, to power the Canucks over the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday evening. Garland found the back of the net for the first time in the second frame on the power-play. Then, in overtime, Garland would score his 16th goal of the season as he sealed the victory. This was a much-needed outing for the 28-year-old as he entered Wednesday's contest carrying a six-game scoreless streak. During this stretch, he averaged just two shots on goal per game and held a -1 rating. However, before this slump, Garland found the back of the net three times over his previous three contests while averaging 3.3 shots on goal per game. Overall, he has found the back of the net 16 times and added 20 helpers across 58 games. He will look to stay hot on Thursday evening against the Anaheim Ducks.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

2 months agoVancouver Canucks right wing Conor Garland scored twice in their victory over the St. Louis Blues on Monday evening. Garland opened the scoring in the first period with a tip-in goal. Later in the frame, Garland found the back of the net again, this time on the power-play. Garland added two penalty minutes, six shots on goal, and a +1 rating. This was a nice breakout performance for the 28-year-old as he tallied only one point (an assist) over his previous eight contests entering Monday. Prior to this stretch, he tallied five points (three goals, two helpers) over his last eight. Fantasy managers should continue to expect Garland to play on the third line, which will limit his offensive production. He is best left for deeper formats and will look to stay productive on Wednesday evening against the Nashville Predators.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

4 months agoVancouver Canucks right wing Conor Garland tallied a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 2-0 win over Boston. His work helped Jake DeBrusk grab a power-play goal in the second period, and Garland iced the game with an empty-netter inside the final minute of play. The 28-year-old is currently enjoying a hot spell, grabbing at least one point in five consecutive outings. This matches Garland's longest scoring streak since April 2022. It's helped Garland become the most prolific forward on the team. He has tallied 17 points (six goals, 11 assists) across 20 appearances. There's a good chance Garland's streak continues on Wednesday, as the Canucks will face the leakiest defense in the league when they travel to Pittsburgh.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

5 months agoVancouver Canucks right wing Conor Garland (personal) is considered a game-time call for Tuesday's matchup against the Rangers. The 28-year-old is set to become a father soon and didn't skate Tuesday morning. Garland has posted assists in back-to-back games and sits third on the team's scoring charts with 13 points (four goals, nine assists) through 17 appearances. J.T. Miller (personal) has already been ruled out for Tuesday night, and if Garland can't play either, the Canucks will have to count more on their depth pieces. Kiefer Sherwood has already seen increased playing time recently, and Dakota Joshua may experience the same.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
