Connor McDavid Sees Connor Brown As "Great" Fit For Oilers
1 year agoEdmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid is very excited to link up with Connor Brown, his former teammate from junior hockey. The two played together for the Erie Otters in the OHL and now find themselves back on the same team in the NHL after Edmonton signed Brown to a one-year, $4 million contract on July 1. "I think he's a great fit for the group," McDavid said this week. "I think he fits in perfectly in the room, on the ice, all that type of stuff." Brown has posted 216 points (90 goals, 126 assists) in 448 regular-season games, but he's been troubled by various injuries in recent seasons and was able to make just four appearances with Washington in 2022-23 because of a torn ACL. It might take a bit of time before he's back to his best again, but McDavid makes everybody around him better and Brown could be set for a big year if he can stick on the same line with his good friend.
