Edmonton Oilers right wing Connor Brown is riding a three-game point streak following Wednesday's 5-2 victory over Dallas. He extended his scoring run with an assist on Mattias Janmark's short-handed goal in the second period, which ended up being the game-winning marker. Brown had registered only one point in seven games this postseason before heating up in the Western Conference Final. He boasts one goal and three assists with six shots on goal, five blocks, five hits, and a plus-three rating through 10 appearances.

Edmonton Oilers right wing Connor Brown (groin) went through full practice on Friday and is on track to return to the lineup for Saturday's battle with the Lightning. He's been sidelined with a groin problem for six games. Brown has gone pointless in his first nine appearances as an Oiler, posting a minus-five rating. It's been an ugly start, but Edmonton has had a coaching change while he was on the shelf, and Kris Knoblauch has penciled in Brown for a top-line role on Saturday. Sam Gagner is dropping all the way down to the fourth line.

Edmonton Oilers right wing Connor Brown appeared to have suffered a lower-body injury in Thursday's 4-3 loss to Dallas, exiting the game after logging only 6:25 of ice time. He had two shots on goal and carried an even rating before calling it a night. With Brown linking up with his former junior teammate Connor McDavid in Edmonton, there were quite high hopes for the 29-year-old this season, but it's gotten off to a bad start for Brown. He's gone pointless through nine games with a minus-five rating. A period on the shelf would be another setback for Brown. His exit from the lineup would open up a spot on the third line, and Brown has also been part of the second power-play unit.

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid is very excited to link up with Connor Brown, his former teammate from junior hockey. The two played together for the Erie Otters in the OHL and now find themselves back on the same team in the NHL after Edmonton signed Brown to a one-year, $4 million contract on July 1. "I think he's a great fit for the group," McDavid said this week. "I think he fits in perfectly in the room, on the ice, all that type of stuff." Brown has posted 216 points (90 goals, 126 assists) in 448 regular-season games, but he's been troubled by various injuries in recent seasons and was able to make just four appearances with Washington in 2022-23 because of a torn ACL. It might take a bit of time before he's back to his best again, but McDavid makes everybody around him better and Brown could be set for a big year if he can stick on the same line with his good friend.
