1 year agoRight-hander Colten Brewer is expected to sign with a team in Japan after he was released by the New York Yankees last weekend. Brewer only made three relief appearances for the Yankees in his first year with the team in 2023, allowing four earned runs on six hits (three homers) while walking three and striking out four in 8 1/3 innings pitched. The 30-year-old was much better for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, posting a 1.35 ERA, 0.70 WHIP, six walks and 23 strikeouts in 20 innings over 15 outings (two starts). In his five big-league seasons, Brewer has a 4.98 ERA (5.28 FIP), 1.77 WHIP, 61 walks and 92 strikeouts in 99 1/3 innings over 84 appearances (four starts) with the Yankees, San Diego Padres and Boston Red Sox.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
