Codi Heuer Placed On 60-Day Injured List
2 years agoOn Monday, Chicago Cubs relief pitcher Codi Heuer (elbow) was placed on the 60-day injured list. The right-hander, who missed the 2022 campaign after undergoing Tommy John surgery, was placed on the 60-day injured list to open up a spot on the 40-man roster for new signing Michael Fulmer. Heuer has thrown 91 innings at the Major League level so far during his career, including 67.1 innings during the 2021 campaign. In 2021, the right-hander logged a 4.28 ERA, a 3.97 FIP, 56 strikeouts, and 23 walks to go along with seven pitcher wins, 17 holds, and a pair of saves in those 67.1 innings. As of now, Chicago's current late-inning options include the likes of Fulmer, Rowan Wick, Brandon Hughes, and Brad Boxberger.
