Clint Frazier Optioned Friday
6 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Clint Frazier was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday. The 24-year-old played in just 69 games last year (15 in the majors) due to the effects of a concussion, and he hit just .130 over 46 at-bats with two doubles, one triple, five RBI and three stolen bases in 17 Grapefruit League games. He walked four times and struck out a team-leading 15 times. Frazier's demotion likely means that infielder Tyler Wade will make the roster in a utility role. Frazier still has potential at the next level, but New York's crowded outfield will make it hard for him to make a significant impact.
