Clay Buchholz Scratched From Friday Start
6 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Clay Buchholz (forearm) will not make his scheduled start on Friday against the White Sox due to a forearm issue, according to Sportsnet's Hazel Mae and Jamie Campbell. Instead, Daniel Hudson will serve as the opener in Toronto. The 34-year-old Buchholz hasn't been nearly as good as he was last year in Arizona, going 0-2 with a 6.57 ERA and 1.54 WHIP in 24 2/3 innings (five starts). There's a good chance he might need to be shelved for a while, and he's not a must-hold in deep mixed leagues. Hudson is 2-1 with a 3.63 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in 17 1/3 innings, but he has no fantasy value in the opener role.
