New York Islanders goalie Christopher Gibson will get his second start of the year Thursday night while the team visits the Edmonton Oilers. The rookie netminder stopped an impressive 47 of 50 shots in his debut against the Penguins in a 3-2 overtime loss on Saturday. It's become apparent the team's current tandem of Jaroslav Halak and Thomas Greiss is not getting the job done, so it seems like Gibson will have a legitimate shot at seeing more ice time. In 33 games with Bridgeport in the AHL, the 25-year-old had a 2.31 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage. He makes for a high-risk, high-reward option for Thursday.--Barry Miles
