Christopher Bell Starts Fast And Slides Late
1 year agoChristopher Bell had all the early momentum in Chicago. He not only led a race-high 37 laps but won both stages too. Sadly, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver pitted after Stage 2 then got caught in a massive pileup on Lap 49. As Bell began to make some headway, he slid into the tire wall on the first turn. That effectively ended any chance of the No. 20 car contending. Bell went on to finish in 18th place after starting in fourth. He is still fourth in overall season points just 21 behind Martin Truex Jr.
