Chris Sale To Make Another Rehab Start Tuesday
4 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale (elbow) will make his next minor league rehab start with Double-A Portland on Tuesday. Sale looked really good in his first rehab outing in the Florida Complex League on Thursday, getting up to 97 mph with his fastball and giving up no runs while striking out five in three innings. The 32-year-old southpaw is recovering from Tommy John surgery and hasn't pitched in the big leagues since August of 2019, but he's looked electric so far in his rehab and should be able to return to Boston's rotation at some point in August, barring setbacks. The seven-time All-Star will have more risk than normal when he makes his season debut, but he's looked great so far and needs to be stashed in all leagues, if he isn't already.
