Chris Sale Shuts Down Orioles
7 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale went six-plus innings Wednesday against the Orioles and allowed just one earned run. Sale came out for the seventh inning and walked the first two batters before being pulled. On his way out, Sale had some words for the home plate umpire and got ejected despite being taken out of the game. Sale was dominant, as he allowed just two hits and struck out nine batters, but he also allowed four walks. The run came in the seventh inning on a sacrifice fly after he was pulled. Sale now sits at a 2.75 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, six wins and 129 strikeouts across 95 innings this season. He has been his usual elite self in 2018 and that should continue in his next outing at Minnesota on Tuesday.
