Chris Kreider Ends Slump With A Two-Goal Effort
2 years agoNew York Rangers winger Chris Kreider put a stop to a scoring drought with a two-goal performance in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to Pittsburgh. He opened the scoring with just 22 seconds played and made it a one-goal game in the middle of the final frame, but the Rangers couldn't keep their seven-game winning streak alive. It was an impressive run from the team, especially considering that its top goal-scorer was mostly anonymous during it. Prior to Tuesday's action, Kreider had recorded only one point in six games. The 31-year-old set very high standards last season with a 50-goal-year and his 16-goal effort in 34 games is definitely disappointing for some managers, but Kreider was never going to maintain a 20-percent shooting percentage. He has still been a good fantasy asset, adding 10 assists to his goals and producing 107 shots on goal with 63 hits.
