Chris Gittens Sitting Wednesday
3 years agoNew York Yankees first baseman Chris Gittens (Achilles) is taking a seat on the bench Wednesday. Gittens is dealing with a sore Achilles, which also kept him out of Tuesday's game. The 27-year-old has just three hits in 28 at-bats at the big league level this season, but his services have been needed due to the injuries to Luke Voit (knee). DJ LeMahieu will get the start at first base in Gittens' absence- though the real beneficiary is Rougned Odor, who will make his fifth straight start at second base. Odor makes for an upside DFS play against the Phillies' lackluster bullpen Wednesday night.
