Chris Bassitt Strikes Out Seven In No-Decision
6 months agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Chris Bassitt threw eight innings of one-run ball in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Athletics but did not factor into the decision. The veteran allowed just four hits and two walks while striking out seven, but the Jays' offense did not provide enough run support to allow him to pick up the victory despite the stellar showing. Aside from a seven-run hiccup against the Dodgers back on April 26, Bassitt has been rather good this season, allowing three earned runs or less in 10 of 13 starts and two or less in seven of them. The righty now has a 3.80 ERA on the season with a 1.38 WHIP and a 70:28 K:BB in 73 1/3 IP.
