6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Chris Archer, who had hernia surgery last November, said he has thrown four bullpen sessions already and reported no issues. "We're not going to rush into anything, but by the first week of the season, I'll be ready to throw over 100 pitches. That's the goal," Archer said. Archer was a disappointment in 2018 but was slightly better after being traded over to the Bucs, going 3-3 with a 4.30 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 10.3 K/9 in 10 starts. He can still strike hitters out frequently and should be better over a full season in the National League, but his fantasy stock has fallen and he can be had in the late middle rounds for rotation depth.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
