Chiefs Still Like Jerick McKinnon
2 years agoThe Kansas City Chiefs still like free-agent running back Jerick McKinnon. "He's certainly a guy that we love. Jerick likes to take his time and make sure he's ready to go. Once we get past next weekend, we'll double up (in chatting with him)," general manager Brett Veach said. McKinnon has found a very cold market in free agency this offseason, but he could return to Kansas City after next week's NFL draft to provide backfield depth behind Isiah Pacheco and Clyde Edwards-Helaire. The 30-year-old had 72 carries for 291 yards and one score while adding a career-high 56 receptions on 71 targets for a career-high 512 receiving yards and a career-high nine TDs through the air in 17 regular season games (zero starts) in 2022. If he returns to KC, he'll be in play as a flex option in PPR fantasy leagues.
