Chase Elliott Hit or Miss at Homestead
1 year agoHomestead-Miami Speedway is a track that really tests a driver and their ability to manage their tires. Because the track surface is so abrasive, drivers need to be able to manage their Goodyear rubber over a lot of laps in order to maintain speed over the fuel run. Chase Elliott has a few good finishes to his credit here at Homestead, including a second-place result back in 202, but he has also had several mediocre finishes--four results between 11th and 15th in his seven career starts at this track. This weekend, Chase's No. 9 Chevrolet will roll off the starting grid from 16th-place. He ranked just 22nd-fastest in ten-lap average during practice, so we may be looking at another mediocre Homestead day out of Elliott on Sunday.
