Chase Dollander Sharp In First Double-A Start
4 months agoColorado Rockies top overall prospect Chase Dollander was effective in four innings in his debut for Double-A Hartford. The 22-year-old right-handed pitcher gave up one unearned run with one hit and three walks to go with five strikeouts. He threw 72 pitches as he continues to build up his pitch count. The Tennessee product features a 65-grade fastball with a 60-grade slider. An imposing presence on the mound, Dollander looks the part in his first professional season, sporting a 4-1 record and 2.68 ERA with a 1.24 WHIP across two levels this year. Colorado pitchers are not ideal for fantasy purposes, but Dollander is one of the best right-handed pitching prospects in baseball. He could still be a year or two away from a Coors Field debut.
