Chase DeLauter Homers During Rehab Assignment
Chase DeLauter (foot) homered for the first time since April 16 during his rehab assignment for the ACL Guardians on Tuesday. MLB's No. 28 prospect has been sidetracked by a foot injury for most of 2024. DeLauter should return to Double-A Akron once he is healthy. The 22-year-old offers plenty of potential, including 60-grade power. The lefty-swinging power hitter will look to make a healthy return and then push for a promotion to Triple-A by the end of the season. By next season, DeLauter could be roaming the outfield in Cleveland.

Chase DeLauter Assigned To Minor-League Camp
Chase DeLauter (abdomen) was assigned to minor-league camp. DeLauter is expected to be sidelined for at least 8-to-12 weeks after undergoing hernia surgery. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as he could push for a late-season MLB debut if he can return to form once cleared for action. Last season, DeLauter appeared in just 39 games in the minor leagues. He spent most of his time at Double-A where he held a .252/.328/.441 slash line with six doubles and five home runs. During his brief six-game stint at Triple-A, DeLauter posted an impressive .304/.407/.739 line. DeLauter is considered one of the top prospects in the sport but has dealt with numerous injuries that have continued to push back his MLB debut. He is a name to monitor during the second half of the season as he could play a role for Cleveland down the stretch.

Chase DeLauter To Miss 8-12 Weeks After Surgery For Sports Hernia
Chase DeLauter (hernia) had surgery this morning to fix a bilateral core-muscle injury (sports hernia) and will miss anywhere from eight to 12 weeks. DeLauter was seen by Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia on Monday for an injury that DeLauter sustained doing defensive work in camp on Feb. 28 during a pre-game workout. It's more bad news for the 23-year-old, who is considered by MLB Pipeline as the team's No. 2 prospect. DeLauter has only played in 96 games in the minors since the Guardians used a first-round pick on him back in 2022. Foot injuries have mostly been the culprit for DeLauter missing time, but now he'll be rehabbing from hernia surgery early this year, setting his development back even more. Fantasy managers stashing him in dynasty/keeper leagues have to be pretty frustrated.

Guardians Invite Chase DeLauter To Spring Training
Chase DeLauter is among the team's non-roster invites to major-league spring training this year. Per MLB Pipeline, DeLauter is Cleveland's No. 2 prospect. The 23-year-old is one of the best up-and-coming outfield prospects in the game from a pure athletic standpoint, but he's going to need to stay healthy to have a shot at panning out at the next level. He was limited to only 39 games in the minors in 2024 due to foot and hamstring ailments and slashed a combined .261/.342/.500 with an .842 OPS, eight home runs, 24 RBI and 25 runs scored in 164 plate appearances at three different stops. If DeLauter stays healthy this spring and impresses, he could break camp with the big-league squad. He missed his entire first pro season in 2022 with a broken foot. The former first-rounder has little left to prove in the minors but is an injury risk for those in keeper leagues.

Chase DeLauter Doubles Twice In Three-Hit Day In The AFL
Chase DeLauter went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles, a walk, two RBI, and a run scored on Thursday in the final regular season game of the Arizona Fall League (AFL) for the Surprise Saguaros. The former first-round draft pick is slashing .350/.475/.511 with five doubles, a home run, and a strong 12:6 BB:K in 12 AFL games. The 23-year-old missed most of the 2024 regular season due to complications from a previous foot injury but hit well in his return and is getting some extra reps in the AFL with an 2025 MLB debut likely on the horizon. Fantasy managers should be keeping an eye on his spring performance as the left-handed hitter offers good power and a keen eye that should translate to the majors.
