Chase Briscoe Qualifies Third at Darlington
3 months agoChase Briscoe has one more chance to make the playoffs, and if he's going to accomplish that, he's going to need to race his way into victory lane at Darlington Raceway on Sunday evening in the Cook Out Southern 500. On Saturday, Briscoe got off to a good start, as the Stewart-Haas Racing driver qualified third for the regular season finale on Sunday night. It will be his first-ever top-10 start at the famed Darlington race track. Briscoe wound up finishing fifth here in the spring race this season and has finished 20th or better in six of his seven career NASCAR Cup Series starts at this track. The No. 14 Ford ranked 13th-fastest in terms of 10-lap average during practice on Saturday afternoon as well. At $7,200 on DraftKings and with his very high starting position, Briscoe is likely too risky of a pick for DFS lineups on Sunday night, but he could challenge for his second-career top-10 finish at Darlington.
