5 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Charlie Morton said that he expects to be able to go four or five innings in his first start of the season. Most starters will be limited in the early going of the shortened season, which will impact those that are in leagues that count quality starts. Morton has been an All-Star each of the last two seasons with the Astros and Rays and went 16-6 with a solid 3.05 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, career-high 240 strikeouts and only 57 walks in 33 starts (194 2/3 innings). The right-hander's age (36) limits his fantasy appeal somewhat, but that is mitigated during the shortened 60-game season this year. Consider him a fine low-end SP1 in his second season with the Rays.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
