Charlie Morton Agrees To Contract Extension With Braves
2 years agoThe Atlanta Braves and starting pitcher Charlie Morton have agreed to a one-year, $20 million contract extension for the 2023 season, with a $20 million club option for 2024. The 38-year-old righty will be back in the Braves rotation for at least another year, and maybe two, with the new deal. Morton hasn't quite lived up to expectations this season, but he has been solid and has shown the occasional glimpse of dominance. He has a 9-6 record, 4.29 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and 200:62 K:BB ratio over 167 ⅔ IP. He will likely be drafted in the mid-late rounds of next year's draft and could provide good value that late.
