Charlie Blackmon Homers To Extend Streak
6 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon drilled a solo shot to try to boost the Rockies to a critical win over the Dodgers, but the team fell short in extra innings. The home run extended Blackmon's hitting streak to 11 games, but it's been one of the more uninspiring hitting streaks in recent memory as he's only gotten one hit in each of the team's last eight contests. He's been driving the ball recently though, recording an extra-base hit in three straight. With the team's offense as a whole slumping at an inopportune time, Blackmon's return to hitting has been a welcome and necessary thing. Now at 27 home runs and 12 stolen bases on the year, Blackmon should still end up with a very good year.
