Chargers Moving Forward With Tyrod Taylor
5 years agoThe Los Angeles Chargers are not expected to sign or trade for a veteran quarterback and will move forward with Tyrod Taylor, according to sources. The Bolts made a run at Tom Brady, but he decided to head to the Buccaneers to stay on the East coast. A previous report suggested that they could look at Cam Newton if the Panthers release him, but they're now expected to continue on with Taylor. That doesn't rule them out from drafting a signal-caller with their first-round pick (sixth overall), however. Taylor, 31 in August, was last a full-time starter in 2017 with the Bills when he threw for 2,799 yards, 14 touchdowns and four interceptions. He'll have plenty of weapons at his disposal and can use his legs to make plays as well, but he'll be more of a game manager and thus will be a low-end QB2 if he's the starter in 2020.
