5 years agoColorado Rockies relief pitcher Chad Bettis has lost whatever touch he had, and the Dodgers torched him for six earned runs and the loss on Sunday. Bettis was called in to pitch the sixth inning with a one-run lead, but by the time he was done, LA had a three run lead and the bases were loaded. Jesus Tinoco would allow two more to score, but all six were credited to Bettis. Bettis has allowed earned runs in five of his last six outings, causing him to stick out as bad even when surrounded by the worst bullpen in baseball. It wouldn't be surprising to see Bettis banished to the IL or the minors, but Colorado's bullpen woes may allow him to keep the job a while longer.
