Cesar Hernandez Adds Late Run In Ugly Loss
7 years agoEver the exemplary leadoff man, Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Cesar Hernandez stood out amongst his peers as they were completely blown out by the Milwaukee Brewers. Taking on the NL Central leaders at Miller Park Friday night, the 28-year-old recorded three hits, including an RBI double in the sixth inning that scored Philadelphia’s first run. The Venezuelan sorely needed a performance like Friday’s, as he's been struggling at the plate lately. Entering the weekend series, Hernandez was hitting an abysmal .196 over his last 15 games as the Phillies have slowly fallen down the division race with the Atlanta Braves and Washington Nationals.
