Celtics, Derrick White In Extension Talks
1 year agoBoston Celtics guard Derrick White has proven to be one of the most important players to the team's success ever since they acquired him two seasons ago. According to Adam Himmelsbach, the two sides are talking about a contract extension but an agreement doesn't seem to be on the horizon just yet. White is set to see an improved role after the team moved Marcus Smart and Malcolm Brogdon. Despite Jrue Holiday coming in and taking over a starting point guard role, White will likely play alongside him and in staggered situations. The current deadline for an extension is October 23 and White is set to make $18.4 million and $19.6 million in his remaining two years of his current contract.
