6 years agoUpdating a previous post, New York Yankees starting pitcher CC Sabathia (knee) has been placed on the disabled list with inflammation in his right knee. Starter George Kontos was called up to take his place on the roster. The Yankees continued making moves, transferring left-hander Jordan Montgomery (elbow) to the 60-day DL. The optioned first baseman Luke Voit to Triple-A, and recalled infielder Ronald Torreyes. It remains to be seen whether Kontos will start in Sabathia's place, or if the team calls up Chance Adams, Luis Cessa, or even Justus Sheffield for Sabathia's next start. Torreyes will provide much needed depth to the lineup.--Mauricio Castillo
